AWS / Snowflake Database Architect – Woodlawn, MD (Onsite)

Key Skills:
– Database architecture (relational + NoSQL), data modeling, schema design
– AWS services: RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, ElastiCache, EMR, Neptune
– Snowflake engineering: warehouses, micro‑partitions, RBAC, ingestion
– Advanced SQL, query optimization, clustering, caching
– Automation/scripting: CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CLI, Python, Bash, PowerShell
– AWS security: IAM, encryption, VPC, security groups

Role Summary:
Architect, optimize, and secure AWS and Snowflake database environments. Build scalable data pipelines, integrate with AWS services, ensure SSA compliance, and provide technical leadership.

Core Responsibilities:
– Architect AWS database solutions and manage EMR clusters
– Integrate with Lambda, S3, EC2, Glue
– Implement security, encryption, IAM, compliance controls
– Design backup, DR, HA, failover strategies
– Troubleshoot AWS database issues
– Build/manage Snowflake warehouses and schemas
– Write and optimize advanced SQL
– Support SSA documentation and mentor junior developers

Basic Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s in CS, Math, Engineering (Master/Doctorate may substitute)
– 7+ years as a Database Architect
– Deep AWS and Snowflake experience
– Strong SQL and troubleshooting skills
– Proficient in automation/scripting

Required Conditions:
– Eligible for Public Trust clearance
– Onsite in Woodlawn, MD (5 days/week)

Preferred Skills:
– Leadership in requirements and solution design
– Linux scripting for ETL and migrations
– Experience with automated testing and CI/CD
– Federal/public sector experience
– Detail‑oriented execution of production tasks
